About the Lucky Number Generator

Whether you play the lottery every week or only occasionally, choosing your numbers is one of life’s small rituals. Our free lucky number generator gives you a fast, fun way to pick your numbers for the most popular lotteries worldwide — Lotto 6/49, Lotto Max, Powerball, Mega Millions, the UK National Lottery, OZ Lotto, and more — with the option to make your picks truly personal by incorporating your date of birth and name.

Each lottery preset is pre-configured with the exact rules of the real draw — the right number of balls, the correct range, and a separate bonus ball where applicable. Just pick your lottery, choose whether you want pure random numbers or personalised picks, and hit Generate. Your numbers animate in one by one, and every draw is saved in the Recent Draws history so you can compare your picks before deciding which set to play.

How the Personalised Mode Works

When you enter your date of birth and name, the generator calculates two personal numbers using standard numerology methods. Your Life Path Number is derived by adding all the digits in your date of birth together repeatedly until a single digit remains. For example, a birthday of June 15, 1985 becomes 0+6+1+5+1+9+8+5 = 35, then 3+5 = 8. Your life path number is 8.

Your Name Number is calculated from the total number of letters in your full name, reduced the same way. A name with 14 letters becomes 1+4 = 5. Your name number is 5.

In personalised mode, your lucky numbers are drawn from a weighted pool that includes multiples and variants of your personal numbers within the lottery range. In mix mode, some numbers come from your personal pool and some are purely random, giving you a blend of personal meaning and true randomness.

Lottery Formats Explained

Lotto 6/49 (Canada): Draw 6 numbers from 1 to 49. Draws are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Matching all 6 wins the jackpot. There is also a bonus ball drawn from the remaining pool, used for the second prize tier.

Lotto Max (Canada): Draw 7 numbers from 1 to 50. Draws are held on Tuesdays and Fridays. The maximum jackpot is capped at $70 million, after which excess funds roll into Maxmillions draws of $1 million each.

Powerball (USA): Draw 5 numbers from 1 to 69, plus one Powerball from 1 to 26. The Powerball is drawn from a separate pool, so it can match one of the main numbers. Draws are held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.

Mega Millions (USA): Draw 5 numbers from 1 to 70, plus one Mega Ball from 1 to 25. Draws are on Tuesdays and Fridays. The Mega Ball is drawn from a separate pool.

Universal (10 numbers): Draws 10 unique numbers from 1 to 99. Useful for any lottery or game not covered by the presets, or for generating a broad set of lucky numbers for personal use.

Frequently Asked Questions

In pure random mode, yes. The generator uses JavaScript’s Math.random() function, which is a pseudorandom number generator producing sequences that are statistically indistinguishable from true randomness for everyday purposes. All numbers within the lottery range have an equal probability of being selected, and no number is ever repeated within a single draw. In personalised mode, the pool is weighted toward your personal numbers but the final selection within that pool is still random.
No. Every lottery draw is statistically independent. No set of numbers has a higher probability of being drawn than any other. The personalised mode is a fun feature based on numerology and adds personal meaning to your picks — it does not change the mathematical odds. The only practical consideration is that birthdate-based numbers cluster between 1 and 31, which means more people play them and jackpots are more likely to be split if those numbers do come up. Mixing in higher numbers from the universal or custom range may reduce the chance of sharing a jackpot.
A Life Path Number is a concept from numerology — the study of numbers and their significance in a person’s life. It is calculated by reducing your full date of birth to a single digit. Add all digits of your birth year, month, and day together, then keep adding the resulting digits until you reach a number from 1 to 9. Some numerology systems also recognise 11, 22, and 33 as master numbers and do not reduce them further. This calculator uses the simple 1-9 reduction for lottery purposes.
Use the Copy Numbers button to copy your current draw to the clipboard instantly. The Recent Draws panel keeps your last 5 draws visible so you can compare sets before deciding which to play. Draws are session-based and will clear if you refresh the page, so copy your favourites before closing the browser.
